If your hormones are in chaos. Start with your Liver

Have you ever wondered what happens to a hormone once it’s done what it’s supposed to do?
Your body doesn’t just make hormones endlessly and hope for the best — it has a very specific system for using them, then clearing them out when they’ve done their job.

Think of it this way: once your body is done with a hormone, it becomes “used up,” and it needs to leave the system — just like any other kind of waste. It doesn’t simply disappear into thin air! But before it can be safely eliminated through your urine or stool, it first needs to go through a detox process.

And guess which organ takes charge of that?
You guessed it, your Liver!

Now, here’s where things get tricky.
Your liver doesn’t just deal with hormones. It’s also processing a huge workload of other substances every single day — from alcohol and medications to pesticides, toxins, and synthetic chemicals that come from the environment, skincare products, and even cleaning supplies.

Because those “foreign” substances are considered more urgent to neutralize, your body tends to give them priority. That means your natural hormones — like estrogen, testosterone, — can sometimes end up at the back of the line, waiting their turn to be processed.

Once your liver has done its part, the processed hormones get sent to your gut, where your microbiome (your gut bacteria) takes over. Ideally, these hormones should continue their journey out of your body for good.

But here’s the catch, if your gut is out of balance and there are too many unfavorable bacteria producing an enzyme called beta-glucuronidase, those hormones can actually get “reactivated” and sent right back into your bloodstream instead of being eliminated. We don’t want that…

That’s when you start to feel it:

  • heavier or more painful periods

  • breast tenderness or swelling

  • mood swings or irritability

  • headaches

  • restless sleep

  • brain fog that just won’t lift

Sound familiar?
These are common signs that your detox pathways — especially your liver and gut — need a little more love and support.

The good news is, you can absolutely turn this around.
When you take care of your liver and gut, you’re not just helping your hormones, you’re improving how your entire body functions. You’ll notice better energy, clearer thinking, lighter moods, and often, easier weight loss.

The solution doesn’t have to be complicated — it starts with simple, consistent steps that help your body do what it’s designed to do naturally.

In my True Vitality Program, we focus exactly on that: supporting the liver and gut so your hormones can finally find their balance again.

Your body knows how to heal and thrive — it just needs the right support.
